About Mary Ann Lyons (72), of Grand Junction, CO, and Carnegie, PA, passed away March 20, 2022, after battling liver failure. Mary Ann was born January 20, 1950, to mother Dorothy Cavey Langer and father Howard Julius Langer. She graduated from Chartiers Valley High School and then attended Carnegie Tech and graduated from University of Pittsburgh. She was married to John Lyons (deceased) in 1970. She is survived by her daughter Christine McKinley and son-in-law, Todd McKinley. Sister, Barbara Trageser and James Trageser, son-in-law (deceased). Brother, Howard Langer and daughter-in-law Susan Langer. Sister and brother in-laws, Rachel Ann Ricketts and Dr. Rev. Ricketts; William Lyons. Nieces, Shelly Newman, Kathleen Trageser, Beth Ann Haase, Cynthia Trageser, Amy Anderson, Deborah Coats, and Jessica Andrews. Nephews, James Trageser, Howard Langer and Joshua Ricketts, and 12 great nieces and nephews. She taught in the Chartiers Valley school district and at St. Ignatius school. She taught techniques of daily living at the Guild for the Blind in Bridgeville, PA. She retired from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, where she was a Braille instructor. Mary Ann loved to travel; she drove Chrissy to Quebec, Canada, with grandmother in tow where Chrissy attended school. She visited many places but often visited Chrissy and Todd in Charlotte, NC; Moreno Valley, CA; Fresno, CA; Manchester, NH and Grand Junction, CO. She loved to visit friends and family. Mary Ann loved to write and kept everyone in her thoughts every holiday, sending cards. She also had a love of roses and she had many rose bushes in her yard where she would tend to them. Mary Ann was patient and kind, she put everyone first. She quietly departed this life March 20, 2022, in the home of her daughter Chrissy and Todd with Luka and Miko, the Jack Russell Terriers, lying at her knees nearby.
