About	Age 73 of Hazelwood, passed away Thursday, August 11, 2022 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital with family by his side. Dear father of Robin, Tanja and Sandra Zanol; devoted long-term companion of Carla Menosky; stepfather of Brian (Julie) Rose; loving grandfather of Derek Licktieg and Damon Longeuil; brother of Mark (Roberta) Zanol, Dan (Therese) Zanol and Miriam (Tim) Kontos, also survived by many nieces and nephews. Born November 21, 1948 in Pittsburgh to the late Alfred and Linda (Vallorz) Zanol. For 25 years, Walt worked as an entomology curatorial assistant in the Invertebrate Zoology Scientific Section at the Carnegie Museum of Natural History, retiring in 2014. He proudly served in the United States Army and was honorably discharged in 1971. Walt enjoyed putting together large puzzles and had a love for science, nature, and movies. Body was donated to science.
