Richard “Richie” Garrett Abel, 54, of Bridgeville, Pa., passed away on Sunday, November 7, 2021 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pa. He was born on Friday, December 27, 1966 in Waynesboro, Virginia, the son of Richard Henry Abel and the late Michele Jene Hall Abel. Richard had a love for animals and playing softball for Holy Child in the Church League. As an organ and tissue donor, the Abel family would like to acknowledge that Richard gave the most precious gift anyone could give; the gift to save the lives of others in need. He is survived by his wife, Debra DeBoe Abel, his son, Austin G, Abel, his father, Richard Henry Abel, his brother, Bryon (Terri) Abel, his sister, Taryn Briggs and his nieces and nephews, Brittany (Chris) Mospan, Dane Salera, Hunter Briggs and Makenzie Briggs. Richard was preceded in death by his mother, Michele Jene Hall Abel.
