About	Kathleen “Kathi" Ann Shuster (Brown) died on Saturday, October 16, 2021, after a courageous battle with cancer. Daughter of the late Charles and Mildred Brown. She is survived by a daughter Erika (Edward) Knotek, grandson Benjamin Knotek, brother Charles (Joyce) Brown, III, stepmother Nancy Brown, and nephew Jarrod (Heather) Brown. Kathi was a lifelong teacher. She started out in early childhood education, working with preschoolers for many years. Her true passion was in special education, and she pursued a graduate degree in this area. Most recently she was a program instructor for adults with intellectual and physical limitations at Merakey. She loved her job and the people she worked with. Kathi was an animal lover and helped with various rescue organizations over the years. She was an avid reader and loved going to the Outer Banks.
