Richard Allen Hilpert, of Hopewell, NJ, passed away on March 25, 2020, at age 63, after battling aggressive cancer. Rich worked for Hopewell Valley Central High School supporting students with special needs and was an after school mentor for We Make, a workplace creating meaningful careers for people with autism. Born in Maine, Rich spent most of his youth in Carnegie, PA and was a life-long Steelers fan. Rich graduated summa cum laude from Penn State University and spent his career in education as a teacher, researcher and advocate. He is survived by his wife, Heather Hoerle; and daughter, Anna Hilpert (Hopewell, NJ); brother, Chuck Hilpert; and sister, Betsy Hilpert Neil (Carnegie, PA); and many nieces and nephews.
