About	Age 68 years old, of The Glen, North Fayette Twp., died Tuesday, August 28, 2018 in UPMC- Mercy. He was born October 31, 1949 in Pittsburgh, son of the late John Jacob and June Rose Phillips Sloan. John served as a Sergeant in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War. He was a member of St. Columbkill RC Church, Imperial, VFW-Lawrence, Eagles-Andover, OH, SNPJ-Imperial. He was a founder of the Kirwin Heights Junior Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed fishing, camp, and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a Computer System Analyst, and manager for Duquesne Light Company. Surviving are his wife, Kathleen Reed Sloan of The Glen, North Fayette Twp.; children, Tracy (Craig) Whipkey of Hankey Farms, John William (Kodi) Sloan of Bridgeville, and Pamela Sloan of North Fayette; grandchildren, Sloan, Tressa Lynne, and Reed Whipkey; sister, Deborah Sloan of McDonald; and a brother, Gary Michael Sloan of Bridgeville; he was preceded in death by sister, Marsha Lynn Sloan. Private Services were held and burial was in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Township.
