Glenn B. Snider, a life-long resident of Charlevoix, passed away on Jan. 3, 2002, in Bradenton, Fla.

Mr. Snider was the youngest of the five children of Edward and Elizabeth (Spencer) Snider. He attended Loeb School and graduated from Charlevoix High School in 1934. He received a bachelor of science degree in education from Central Michigan University and a master's degree in school administration from the University of Michigan.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and helped to install telephone lines in the Philippines after the war.

He was honorably discharged and returned to teaching in the Charlevoix area, where eventually he became the principal of the Charlevoix Elementary School. He was associated with the Charlevoix Public Schools for 37 years.

He was a 50-year member of the Masonic Lodge and past president of the Kiwanis Club. He was also a member of the V.F.W.

Mr. Snider is survived by his wife, Connie; his two children, Glenn R. (Mary) of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Charlevoix, and Nancy A. (James Labiak) of Kirkland, Wash.; his granddaughter, Kathryn Labiak (Mark Adamo) of Kenmore, Wash.; and a brother, Raymond, of Sheffield, Mass.

A memorial service will be held for Mr. Snider in Charlevoix at a later date.

Arrangements are being handled by Winchester Funeral Home in Charlevoix.
