Victor J. Gibbons, 80, formerly of Charlevoix, died at home in Norcross, Ga., on Dec. 27, 2013, from a long-term illness.
Victor was born Dec. 4, 1933, to Dr. Gerald and Elsie Gibbons, in Detroit. Victor graduated Charlevoix High School in 1952, where he played in the Charlevoix High School band, enjoyed running track, spoke kindly of classmates.
Victor graduated from University of Michigan and was third in his 1960 law school class and was a member of the U of M Law Review. Victor was a corporate attorney and later became a commercial real estate broker for many years.
Victor is survived by Elizabeth (Dunham) Gibbons; two sons, David (Rose) Gibbons, of Denver, Colo., and Robert Gibbons of Los Angeles, Calif. Victor also is survived by the family members of Dr. Gerald C. and Elsie Gibbons: Margaret Arden (Charles G.) Gibbons, of Rockport, Texas; James J., M.D. and Christel I. Gibbons, of Charlevoix; Col. (Ret.) Gerald G. Gibbons, of San Antonio, Texas; Carol Gibbons Foote, of Dallas, Texas; Dr. Louise (Thomas A.) Gibbons, of Baldwin, Mich.; C. Marilyn (Michael A.) Gibbons, of Charlevoix; Peter C. Gibbons, of Loveland, Colo.; Sharon Gibbons Watkins, of Arlington, Va.; Joseph Gibbons, D.O. and Connye Gibbons, of Palm Beach Shores, Fla.; Mary Ann Gibbons, of Grayling; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Victor was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Charles G., J.D. Esq., Thomas A., Ph.D., L.P. and Michael A., J.D., Esq.
