About	Ronald William Haggard, 22, passed away suddenly on Thursday, April 27, 2000. Mass of the Resurrection was Monday, May 1, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Charlevoix, with the Rev. Thomas A. Neis officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. Ron was born and lived in Charlevoix his entire life. He graduated from Charlevoix High School in 1996, where he was a standout member of the wrestling team and became a Michigan state finalist in his junior and senior years. Ron was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and Father Pierre Knights of Columbus Council No. 7172. He loved to hunt and made numerous out-of-state hunting trips with his father. Ron also spent a great deal of time on Beaver Island and was a member of the Beaver Island Wildlife Club. Ron enjoyed art and writing poetry. One of his most cherished possessions was his Harley-Davidson motorcycle, which is maintained with meticulous precision. He was employed by Haggard's Plumbing and Heating. Survivors include his loving parents, John and Phyllis Haggard; two beloved sisters and one brother, Betsy Haggard Svanda and husband Todd, of Portland, Mich., Barbara Haggard Sheets and husband, Alec, of Berkley, Mich., and John Earl Haggard Jr., of Wasilla, Alaska. Ron is also survived by nephew, Dillon S. Hughs, and nieces, Pauline and Sophia Sheets and Caroline Svanda, and many aunts and uncles. Ron's entire family loves and misses him a great deal. He had many friends who will never forget him. He will live forever in the hearts and minds of all who knew and loved him. There was a wake service Sunday, April 30, at Winchester Funeral Home, Charlevoix.
