| About | Francis Michael “Mike” Themm, 64, of Charlevoix, passed away on Sunday, June 22, 2025, at his home. He was born on February 5, 1961, in Romeo, MI, the son of Francis R. and Sandra (Lichter) Themm. Mike grew up working on the family dairy farm, New Horizons, in Charlevoix with his dad and brothers. He graduated from Charlevoix High School in 1979, and continued to work on the farm. Eventually, he and his brother, Thomas, bought the farm from their father, creating Themm Brothers Dairy. Mike was a gifted mechanic that could fix anything, repairing machinery used on the farm and always helping other farmers around the area in need. He was especially proud of the 1959 Farmall 560 diesel tractor he restored, along with many others including his favorite, International Harvester 1066. One of the many duties he enjoyed, was caring for and raising the calves born at the farm; with his beloved dog Lucy following behind. When he wasn’t working, he enjoyed watching old westerns from his movie collection at home. Mike is survived by his mother, Sandra (David) Whitley; his brother, Thomas (Cindy) Themm of Charlevoix; two sisters, Veronica (Douglas) Day of Sarasota, FL, and Bonnie (Chris) Cady of Canton, GA; three step-siblings, Maria Bouslough, Katie Parsons, and Ian Sibinic; five nieces and nephews, Alyssa (Dan) Riley, Evan (Morgan) Themm, Kathryn Day, Caroline Cady, and Mitchell Cady; and a great-niece, Molly Ann Riley. He was preceded in death by his father, Francis R. Themm; and his brother, Dennis Themm. A time for visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 3, at the Charlevoix Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes. There will be no formal services held at this time. Arrangements are in the care of the Charlevoix Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes. Please sign his online guestbook at www.mortensenfuneralhomes.com |
