About	Margaret O'Dell - Fales, 101 of Elk Rapids, died April 30, 2012 at Munson Medical Center. She was born in Creswell (which was in Torch Lake Twp.) July 7, 1910 the daughter of Frank & Mary Rutherford. Margaret's mother was the postmaster in Creswell, then the family moved to Charlevoix when she was seven where her father was a blacksmith. After graduating from Charlevoix High School, Margaret married Perry W. O'Dell, November 3, 1931 and they settled in Kewadin where they had a dairy and cherry farm. Margaret retired after 25 years as the Milton Township Clerk, she was active as a 4-H leader in the community, a member of the Kewadin United Methodist Church and was currently appointed for her second five year term as a member of the Elk Rapids Housing Commision. Beloved Wife of the late Perry W. O'Dell and the late Lester Fales. Loving Mother of: Ted O'Dell and Betty (Thomas) Kirkby. Proud Grandmother of: Ted Jr., (Michelle), Tod (Tammy) Michael (Wanda) Brian (Dana), Chad (Brook), Jennifer and Thomas (Andrea). Great Grandmother of 13 and Great Great Grandmother of six. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and special step children and grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents, spouses, brothers; Harry, Seymour and Julian Rutherford and sister; Julia Pascoe. Burial has taken place privately at Maple Grove Cemetery in Elk Rapids and a Memorial Service is to be announced at a later date.
