Agnes M. Christ of Charlevoix and Largo, Fla., passed away Thursday, March 5, 2015, in Largo. She was born April 26, 1928, in Charlevoix to William and Hulda (Rieth) Thorp. Agnes graduated from Charlevoix High School in 1947. On June 14, 1947, she married
Arthur Christ in Charlevoix, and he preceded her in death in 1976.
Agnes worked at Freedman Artcraft (now Harbor Industries) for fifteen years as an inspector. She also worked for the Nathan Cummings family at their home on Lake
Charlevoix. Agnes owned and ran a ceramics shop outside of her home. She attended the Charlevoix Community Church of God and the Ironton Congregational Church. Agnes
was a member of the Charlevoix Senior Center.
She is survived by her son, Philip Christ of Dunedin; daughter, Nanette (John) Ellis of Largo; grandchildren, Josh, Erin and Eric Christ, Christy (Fred) Satterfield, Tony Ellis; great-grandchildren, Victor and Violet Satterfield; sisters, Wilma (Ron) Sitzema of Ellsworth, Alice (Chuck) Bricker of Petoskey; sister-in-law, Peggy Thorp of Charlevoix; brother-in-law, John Powell of Charlevoix. Agnes was preceded in death by her brothers,
Edward, Albert, and John, and sisters, Thelma Powell and Hildabel Bruce.
Funeral will be 1 pm, Thursday, March 12, at the Winchester Funeral
Home in Charlevoix where visitation will begin at 11 am. The Reverend Neil Turner of the Charlevoix Community Church of God will officiate. Burial will be in Brookside
Cemetery in Charlevoix.
