About	Marie Jones Allen, 87, passed away on Monday, March 15, 2010, at Wisteria Gardens Nursing Home in Pearl. Visitation is 10 am Saturday, March 20, 2010, at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon. Services will be held at 11 am Saturday at the funeral home with burial in Old Brandon Cemetery. Rev Bernard Nail and Rev. Joe Butler will officiate. Mrs. Allen was born in Grimsby, England and emigrated from Norway to Charlevoix, Michigan at the age of seven. She graduated valedictorian of Charlevoix High School in 1941 and from Henry Ford Hospital School of Nursing in Detroit with a Registered Nursing Degree. Mrs. Allen served as a First Lieutenant in the Air Force Nurse Corps and was stationed in Cheyenne, Wyoming. She worked in various hospitals in Mississippi and New Orleans before retiring to the Brandon area and was a member of Brandon Baptist Church. Mrs. Allen was preceded in death by her husband, William Henry Allen, Jr. Survivors include her daughters, Aimee Butler of Orange Park, Florida and Elise Bourgeois of Ocean Springs; sons, Mark Allen of Brandon, Noel Allen of Apopka, Florida, William Allen III of Slidell, Louisiana; and 12 grandchildren.
