Funeral services for Virginia L. Gebeau, 95, of Charlevoix, will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 16, at the Winchester Funeral Home in Charlevoix. The Rev. Gregory Culver of the Charlevoix United Methodist Church will officiate, and burial will follow at Brookside Cemetery in Charlevoix. Visitation will be 3-6 p.m., Tuesday Nov. 15, at the funeral home followed by an Order of the Eastern Star memorial service conducted by Chapter 72, Charlevoix.

Mrs. Gebeau passed away Sunday, Nov. 13, 2011, at her daughter's home in Edmore.
Born in Charlevoix, Jan. 28, 1916, to Walter and Ella (Matchett) Taylor, she graduated from Charlevoix High School in 1933.
After high school, Virginia worked at District Health Department #3 in Charlevoix, then at the Michigan Department of Public Health in Lansing as a medical secretary.
Virginia married William 'Bud" Gebeau Jan. 7, 1943, in Lansing. In 1983, Bud retired as hospital administrator of the Rogers City Hospital, and they returned to Charlevoix to make their home.
Virginia was a member of the Charlevoix United Methodist Church, and its Mary Jean Tennant Circle; the Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter 72; AARP; and life member of the Charlevoix Hospital Auxiliary. She volunteered at the Charlevoix Area Hospital gift shop, the Rainbow Shoppe, and Charlevoix Senior Center.
Virginia is survived by her daughter, Sherri Miel and her husband, Larry Greer; grandson, Erik (Jennica) Miel and their daughters, Kristy and Erin of Cape Coral, Fla.; granddaughter, Christine (Billy) Miel and future grandson of Six Lakes; sisters, Dorothea Kelley and Elaine Martin of Charlevoix; nephews, Kim Kelley, C.T. Martin and Kevin Martin.
Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Bud. on Oct. 19, 1986; and great-granddaughter, Ella Marie.
