About	Robert Howard Bearss, age 84 of Coleman, went to be with Jesus on Tuesday, July 18, 2023. He was born the son of Howard and Bessie Roberta (Bartlett) Bearss on June 3, 1939, in Charlevoix. Robert was raised on a farm in Ellsworth and later moved to Charlevoix in 1953. He was a graduate of Charlevoix High School in 1957. Following high school Robert joined the U.S. Navy from July of 1957 to July of 1961; he had been a Morse Code Radioman. After serving in the Navy, Robert attended Northwestern Michigan College from 1961 to 1963 and then Oakland University from 1963 to 1965. He had held various jobs, including working at a bank, Sears and ANR pipeline. He enjoyed reading, writing, and gardening. Robert married Teresa Cary on August 19, 1978; together they had two children, Sarah and Glenna. Robert is survived by his wife Teresa; daughters Sarah (Brandon) Zollars of Manchester, Glenna Bearss of St. Louis and Danielle Cary of Saline; brothers James (Angel) Bearss of Charlevoix and Glenn (Audrey) Bearss of Central Lake, one granddaughter and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Luke Cary. Visitation and services will be held at the First Church of the Nazarene, 1980 S. Lincoln Road, Mt. Pleasant on Friday, July 21, 2023. Visitation will be from 11 A.M. until the time of service at 12 noon with Pastor Jon Croft officiating. A luncheon will follow at the church with burial in the Warren Twp. Cemetery in Coleman at 3 P.M. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to your favorite charity or to the Life Choices of Central Michigan or Cru.
