About | Carl H. “Bud” Rowe, 87, Green Bay, formerly of Abrams, died peacefully surrounded by family on Monday, October 1, 2012, at a local hospital. He was born December 12, 1924, in Ironwood, MI, to the late Albert and Ann (Anderson) Rowe. Carl played quarterback at Charlevoix High School where he graduated. After high school, he joined the U.S. Navy as an Aerial Gunner. After the Navy, Carl worked for Packerland Packing. On June 17, 1973, he married Lea (Okray) Ness in Green Bay. Together they enjoyed going on cruises, golfing, dancing, and gardening. Carl also enjoyed watching his favorite football team, the Detroit Lions even though he loved his Packers. He was a quiet man with a good sense of humor. To make him happy he only needed his food and family. Carl is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Lea (Okray) Ness Rowe; four sons, Carl Jr. (Linda), Mark (Diane), Kevin (Cathy), David (Tami) and their mother, Josephine; five stepchildren, Randy (Lana) Ness, Debbie Smith (Dave), Sherry (Jerry) VanDreel), Laurie (Tim) Shepherd, Rick Ness; his grandchildren, Sandra (Tracy), Nicole (Chris), Kristopher (Katie), Jessica (Steve), Matt, Josh, Aaron, Jennie (Zach), Sarah (Brad), Tara (John), Janel (Evan), Logan, Jason, Max, and Anna; 11 great-grandchildren; a brother, John (Betty) Rowe; sisters-in-law, Genivieve Delvaux, Evelyn Garrity, Jalane Okray, Marie Hilbert, Thornetta Rowe. In addition he will be sadly missed by nieces, nephews and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Leonard and Bertha Okray; two brothers, Robert and Bill; two sisters, Ruth and Alice; brothers-in-law, Richard Delvaux, Tom Crooks, Robert Okray, Darrell Garrity, Lawrence Okray, Mike Hilbert; sisters-in-law, Lucielle Ketterhagen, Irene Crooks, Bertha Rowe; and a grandson, Louis. Friends may call at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2771 Oakwood Dr., from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, October 5. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the church with Rev. Paul Demuth officiating. Military honors will follow the mass.
