About	Jeryl Esther Murdick, 74, of Charlevoix, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 19, 2021 at Meadow Brook Medical Care Facility in Bellaire. She was born on June 14, 1947 in Detroit, MI, the daughter of F. Jerold and Esther (Kerr) Murdick. Jeryl graduated from Charlevoix High School in 1965, and she then began working at her parents’ candy store, Murdick’s Famous Fudge (which is now the home of Harwood Gold). She and her brother, Gary, inherited the business in 1977, which they ran successfully until they retired in 2012. When she wasn’t making candy, Jeryl enjoyed crocheting, reading mystery novels, and playing with her cats. Jeryl is survived by her brother, Gary Murdick. She was preceded in death by her parents; two half-brothers, Harold Lang and Fran Murdick; and a half-sister, Muriel Archer. Visitation will take place from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at the Charlevoix Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes. A celebration of her life will be held in the summer of 2022. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Charlevoix Area Humane Society, 614 Beardsley St, Boyne City, MI 49712.
