CHARLEVOIX Funeral services for Claire C. Martin, 54, who died suddenly Saturday morning, will be held at the Winchester Funeral Home at 1 p.m. Tuesday. The Rev. Austin Technological Regier will officiate. Burial will be in Brookside cemetery.

Born in Charlevoix Feb. 11, 1924, Mr. Martin was graduated from the Charlevoix High School. He was a veteran of World War II having served in Europe. He had owned and operated Art's Dry Cleaners for many years. He was a member of the Charlevoix Board of Education and at the time of his death served as treasurer. He had been closely associated with the track and field also of program at the Charlevoix . High School and, on occasion, had assisted with the coaching of the girls' track team. On Dec. 23, 1977, he was married to the former Mary VanDamme Martin.

Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Claire T. (C.T.) and Kevin L. who are students at Florida State College and Michigan University, respectively; four step-children, Roy, a student at the University of Michigan, Dennis, James and Kathleen Martin of Charlevoix; four brothers, Frank H. of Newport, R.I., James A., Phil G. and Patrick R. of Charlevoix; five sisters, Mrs. Watson Gregory of Petoskey, Mrs. Rex Supernaw, Mrs. Lloyd Cum- mings, Mrs. Benjamin S. Gill and Frances A. Martin, all of Charlevoix and a half-sister,Mrs. Larry Swenson, also of Charlevoix.

The family suggests that anyone wishing to honor his memory contribute in his name to a special memorial fund to be used for the track program at the Charlevoix High School.
