About	Fern E. Keegstra passed away peacefully at her residence on February 19, 2025, at the age of 92. A longtime resident of Clawson since 1956, Fern had spent the past five years in Sterling Heights. Born on April 28, 1932, in Charlevoix, Michigan, Fern was the daughter of Medrick and Rosalie (née O'Brien) Waffle. She grew up in Charlevoix and graduated from Charlevoix High School in 1950. She lived in her hometown until she married the love of her life, Donald E. Keegstra. Together, they built a beautiful life, sharing many years of love and companionship until his passing on November 9, 2009. While raising her children, Fern pursued a career in cosmetology, attending beauty school in Madison Heights. She worked as a hairdresser for many years, a skill she also shared with her children-evident in their school pictures over the years. Fern and her loved ones created lasting memories on camping trips throughout Michigan and beyond, including a cherished trip to Colorado. Later in life, she enjoyed traveling to Florida with her husband after his retirement. Fern was actively involved in her community as an Elkette, supporting the Clawson Troy Elks Lodge #2169, where her husband was a member. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society, enjoying the camaraderie and fun that came with it. In her free time, she found joy in knitting and crocheting and cherished the companionship of her beloved cat. Fern is survived by her children, Dennis (Deborah) Keegstra and Dawn (Randy) Truscott; her grandchildren, Devon (Lisa) Truscott, Mackenzie Truscott, Kyle Keegstra, Lexie (Nick) Peil, and Autumn Keegstra; her great-grandchildren, Rori, Cristian, and Remi; and her step-great-grandchildren, Kayden, Colson, Ally, Olivia, and Jackson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald E. Keegstra Sr.; her son, Donald E. Keegstra Jr.; and her brother, Robert Waffle. Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 23, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Gramer Funeral Home, 705 North Main Street, Clawson, Michigan, 48017.
