ROKEN-Bruce E. Kroken, 58, a resident of Albuquerque, died suddenly Thursday, January 1, 2004. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Patricia "Pat" Kroken of Albuquerque, daughters, Christina Barber and husband Tom of Lemoore, CA, and Jennifer Amann and husband Pat of Dallas, TX; and grandsons, Zachary and Jacob. Bruce was the co-director of the Albuquerque Concert Band and a charter member of the Albuquerque Jazz Orchestra. He previously taught high school band in Wisconsin and was the band director at Manzano High School in Albuquerque. Most recently, Bruce was assistant band director at Desert Ridge Middle School and a mentor to band directors across the city. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, January 6, 2004 at 7:00p.m. at Manzano High School Performing Arts Center.
