Charlevoix native Clare L. Beattie, 73, of Tavares, Fla., died March 30, 1990, in Eustis, Fla.
Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Friday, May 11 at Brookside Cemetery, Charlevoix. The Rev. Robert Bellairs of the Barnard United Methodist Church will officiate.
Mr. Beattie was born Jan. 20, 1917, in Charlevoix, the son of Clarence and Ruth Bowdish Beattie. He was a 1936 graduate of Charlevoix High School.
He married the former Alice Ecklund and they made their home in Tavares, moving there
from Waynesboro, Va. in 1973. Mr. Beattie was a retired electrical engineer with General Electric. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Tavares and a Rotarian.
Survivors include his wife; one son, Arthur E. Beattie of Phoenix, Ariz.; one daughter, Mrs. Barbara Martin of Atlanta, Ga.; two brothers, Carl W. of Petoskey and Harold V. of Grand Rapids; one grandson.
He was preceded in death by a brother Lyle in 1974.
Local arrangements are being handled by the Winchester Funeral Home, Charlevoix.
