Ex-Charlevoix Woman Killed In Auto Crash
CHARLEVOIX -- Funeral services for Sandra A. Tuomela, 24, of Holly, a teacher in the Andersonville School at Clarkston, will be held at the Winchester Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Wednesday with Rev. Duane E. Imig in charge. Burial will be in Brookside Cemetery. Miss Tuomela, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Larrie Tuomela was killed Sunday in a head-on crash with another car near Springfield township, Oakland county. Born in Battle Creek July 4, 1943, she came here from Iron River with her parents in 1951. She was graduated from Charlevoix High School in 1961 and from Northern Michigan University in 1965. This was her third year on the elementary school faculty of the Clarkston school. She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church. Besides her parents, she is survived by a brother, Pfc John C. Tuomela, serving in the Philippines with the U.S. Army. He is enroute to Charlevoix. The family has suggested that persons wishing to honor her memory may do so by contributing to the memorial fund of Bethany Lutheran Church/
