Catherine Marilyn Neff Gibbons passed away on Monday, October 5, 2020 in Charlevoix, Michigan. C. Marilyn was the daughter of Gordon and Catherine (Walgren) Neff, born on April 24, 1939. She was a 1957 graduate of Charlevoix High School and a long-term member of the Charlevoix Historical Society.
C. Marilyn married Michael A. Gibbons, the son of Dr. Gerald and Elsie Gibbons, on June 6, 1959. C. Marilyn and Michael had four sons: Christopher, Timothy, Patrick and Matthew. Michael, local Charlevoix attorney, passed away on October 10, 1985.
C. Marilyn is survived by four sons: Christopher (Kay), Timothy (DeAnn), Patrick, and Matthew (Karey), seven grandchildren: Michael, Samuel, Maegen, Patrick, Caeli, Jacob, and Bella, brother Gordon Brian Neff (Betty); brothers-in-law: Donald L. Hoffman, James J. Gibbons, M.D. (Christel), Joseph M. Gibbons, D.O. (Connye); sisters-in-law: MaryAnn Gibbons (Reiner), Margaret, Carol, Elizabeth, Louise, and Sharon; many nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.
C. Marilyn is preceded in death by her parents, spouse, sister Karen Hoffman; and brothers-in-law Charles, Gerald, Victor, Thomas, and Peter.
A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 12, 2020 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Charlevoix with burial to follow at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will take place on Sunday, October 11, 2020 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Winchester Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes. Memorials may be made to St. Mary's School library or the Charlevoix Historical Society.
