Bob Alger has joined the district as director of instructional services where he oversees literacy consultant staff and services, professional development programs and services offered to more than 900 educators across the district, school improvement initiatives, curriculum and technology support staff. He served as superintendent in Boyne City and Shepherd, and has been a principal and teacher. He has a master's degree in K-12 administration from Michigan State University, a bachelor's degree in education from Ferris State University, and an associate degree in tool and die design from Ferris State University.
