| About Me | I was a Federal Service employee and retired with 28.5 years service in Jan 2007. I also retired from the Navy Reserve. Linda (from Columbus Mississippi) is still employed by Department of the Air Force at Charleston AFB, SC. Since leaving Black Mountain in 1976, we have lived in Maryland, Mississippi, North Dakota, Colorado, Wyoming, Ohio, Germany, back to Ohio, back to Germany and finally to our last assignment with the Federal Service at Charleston Air Force Base, SC. At the first writing of this note we were building a Log Home on Bat Cave Road in Old Fort. We have finished the home and are living in it, at least part time, until Linda retires from Federal Service. We moved in the house in May 2009. That was only a month behind schedule but there was no urgency since we still have to maintain a house in Charleston SC until Linda retires. UPDATE AS OF JAN 2011: Linda has retired from Federal Service. She has taken a job with National Association of Child Care Resource & Referral Agencies (NACCRRA) and maintains an office in Durham, NC. She stays in Chapel Hill Monday thru Friday and still comes home to Old Fort every weekend. SECOND UPDATE AS OF AUG 2012: In July 2011, due to NC State budget cutbacks, Linda gave up the office in Durham and began working from home (Good or Bad). But at least she doesn't have to drive every Friday and Sunday. That is a big relief. We love to travel and have travelled extensively throughout the USA, Europe and Japan. We have been extremely blessed to have been in career fields that allowed us the opportunities to explore the world. We are hoping to continue our travels after we are both retired and living in Wonderfull Western North Carolina.
