Served with the 101st Airborne out of Fort Campbell Kentucky. Door gunner on a Blackhawk helicopter. Killed in action 9/25/1993 in Mogadishu, Somalia when his Blackhawk helicopter was shot down with a RPG.

Fixed and Rotarty wing qualified. 2 years flying the Czeck West German border 2 years 650 hours combat flying hours in Vietnam. Awards, Legion of Merit, Bronze Star (2),Air Medals(16)Meritorious Servious Medal, Army Commendation Medal(2).
Various (I was there awards). Retired as a Lt Col US Army living in the Big Sky Country of Montana. Give me a holler if you care to talk about the old times playing trombone with the band for all 4 years. Have a great day. Ray/Bob

I applied for flight school after graduation from college and went to fixed wing and promptly after to helicopter school. Flew the Chek border for 3 years then spent 2 years in Vietnam flying both fixed and rotary wing aircraft. Retired after 22 years in the grade of Lt Col.
