About Me	I was born in Florence. Italy, and spent my childlood in Ithaca, New York and Chapel Hill, North Carolina. I Spent 2 years at Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut and graduated from UNC Chapeil Hill with a BFA in 1974. I married Anne Renfro and moved to Virginia. I went to graduate school at UVA, where I received a MA in Modern Italian History in 1979 and a JD in 1982. Anne and I moved to Boston and settled in Cambridge, Massachusetts. I have practiced law ever since and Anne owns a small graphic design busness. We have two daughters, Sarah and Joanna. Sarah is in medical school at Tufts and Joanna is a chemist who works in lab at a hospital in NYC. I am pursuing a second (or maybe original) career as an oil painter. My mother was an artist who worked in oil, print, and ceramics. Other members of my family are also professional artists, so I grew up around visual ideas and materials. I received A BFA degree in painting from UNC Chapel Hill and have taken classes at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts; otherwise I am self-taught. I have exhibited work at Cambridgeport Artists Open Studios; I was director of CAOS in 2006 and 2007. I paint portraits, landscapes, and still lifes, and am proficient in drawing and watercolor as well as commercial drawing and illustration. I go regularly on landscape painting trips to various places, including Italy, Ireland, and England, Monhegan Island and Kennebunkport in Maine, and Cape Cod and Rockport. I am a member of the Copley Society and exhibit there regularly. I show at galleries in Provincetown and Chatham, and am a member of the Marblehead and Rockport Art Associations.
