About | Libby FORSYTH Obituary FORSYTH, Libby (Whitcomb) Libby Whitcomb Forsyth left her friends and family to join her savior the night of September 8, 2016 just shy of her 55th birthday. Libby was born in Spokane on September 12, 1961. She was a graduate of Central Valley High School in 1979. From there, she attended Washington State University and graduated with a B.A. in Finance in 1983. She met the love of her life, Greg, at WSU and they were married June 18, 1983. They have two children, Alison and Ian. Libby had many jobs over the years, but the one she cherished the most was being a mom. She and Greg worked at and owned the family business, River City Marina, which was started by Libby's father, Sam. Libby's last place of employment was at Washington State University in the Health Policy Administration department. She loved working for WSU more than anything, except raising her many litters of foster kittens. She and Greg passed on their love of WSU to their children and there is nothing they love more than a Cougar Football Saturday and beating the Huskies. Libby was a member and former president of the Delta Beta Chapter of Alpha Gamma Delta, PEO, and the WSU Alumni Association. She is survived by her husband, Greg; children, Alison and Ian; mother, Janet Whitcomb; and her sisters, Holly Whitcomb Henry and Sue Whitcomb Lenker. Libby is preceded in death by her father, Sam Whitcomb; and her in-laws, Jim and Louise Forsyth. Services for Libby will be held Thursday, September 15, 2016; 3:00 in the afternoon at Fairmount Memorial Park. Libby loved her cats like they were her children and in lieu of flowers, the family would like any donations made in Libby's name sent to the Spokane Humane Society, 6607 N. Havana St., Spokane WA 99217. To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store. Published by Spokesman-Review from Sep. 11 to Sep. 14, 2016. |
