About Me	Went to Cornell College and met Charlene Walker - we were married before our senior year. I wrestled and played baseball for 4 years. Got my BA from Cornell and my Masters from U. of Northern Iowa. I taught U.S. History and International Relations for 32 years (30 in suburb of Chicago), head wrestling coach for 12 years, Model U.N. advisor for 25 years. Finalist in Illinois Teacher of the Year in 1990. Inducted into the Rapid City Sports Hall of Fame in 2004. Char was a piano teacher and continues to be a church accompanist as well as a professional accompanist. We have three children - Shawn, Dawn, and Shane and three grandchildren - Josh, Nathan,and Rachel - all living in Illinois and Iowa. Retired in 1994 but continued to sub at the same school for 11 years. Worked in San Francisco during summers for 15 years and continued to vacation in the Santa Cruz mountains for the next 8 summers and moved to Boulder Creek in November of 2005. Char continues performing her music. I write political commentary for local newspaper and local NPR station.
