About Me	I was born in Corpus Christi, TX, when my Dad was in the Navy. He was a flight engineer. We lived in Coronado, CA when he was stationed in San Diego, then settled back in my folks' hometown of Coffeyville, KS. I completed 9th grade in Coffeyville, then my folks (Doyal and Barbara Plute) bought a photography studio in Independence, KS, renaming it Doyal's Photography Studio, and I graduated from Independence HS in 1971. We attended Emmanuel Southern Baptist Church in Coffeyville, and First Southern & First Baptist in Indy. During my senior year, a group came to town for our annual Neewollah celebration in October, called The Sound Generation. They were from John Brown University in Siloam Springs, Arkansas. I decided then and there I wanted to go to JBU. That year, I got a full Presidential Scholarship in piano accompanment to attend JBU. Eventually I auditioned and was able to join the group as their keyboardist and traveled from 1972-73. All I can say is - it was awesome and changed my life forever! I graduated from JBU in 1976, although I should have graduated in '75, with a Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance, and a minor in choral conducting. With one or two more classes, I would have had a Bible minor also. Moving ahead, I met Lee, my husband, at JBU. Lee graduated with a BS in Building Construction and Design (now Construction Management). We were married on February 11th, 1978, in Independence with our JBU friends in our wedding party. They were: Caryl Gere, Stephanie McCormick, Linda Brockles, Tom Schureman, Jim Klein, and Howard Semmler. Serving as junior bridesmaid and groomsman were my sister, Stacy, and Toby Cook. Toby was a newscaster for years, and is now the PR manager for the KC Royals. We have two sons: Adam Lee Harris was born 8-10-1980; married Chelsea Bell, and is a Doctor of Chiropractic. Chelsea is a Registered Dental Hygienist, and works in Boulder. Adam opened his practice in Louisville, Colorado, near Boulder. Adam received his DC from Cleveland Chiropractic College in Kansas City, and Chelsea received her RDH from UMKC. Their first child - our first grandchild! - was born on January 6th, 2010. His name is Ethan Doyal Harris. Austin James Harris was born 10-2-1982, and works for himself. He is a certified Home Inspector, and set up his own business, called Pro-Spect Home Inspections. He is the proud papa of Teagan Elaine, our second grandchild, born March 14th, 2012. I worked for years with my folks in their professional photography business, until they retired in 1997. Dad passed away in 2004, as did my 'Nana'. Mom now lives in Leesburg, FL, near her brother Jack Litty, and his wife, Judy. My sister Stacy lives nearby in Tampa, with her husband Rob Works, and son, Calvin. Currently, Lee and I still live in Indep. in the country. I went back to school in 1996 and became a Registered Nurse. I have done a lot of travel nursing, and have worked in California (Berkeley, Burbank, Concord and Marin County); Dodge City, KS; Springfield, MO; and Las Vegas, NV.
