Willy Vazquez (Guillermo Vazquez)

Class of 1986

Hello, I was a freshman exchange student at Cedar Vale High School during 1985.

From Mexico City, my hometown, I was welcomed by the Cedar Vale community. I lived with Kay. Mickey and Gunar Myers, a beautiful family of whom I have the best memories. As an student, i had the pleasure of experiencing what I never did: lunch at school, driver´s education class, shop (where I build a picnic table and a bookshelf), played football, participated in track & field, learned English and met extraordinary friends and teachers, along with a top level education.

Later, I obtained a Bachelor Degree on Computer Engineering in Mexico City. Currently I am the CIO (Chief Information Officer) at Afore XXI Banorte, one of the most important and recognized financial institution in Mexico.

I am certain that the great experience I had at Cedar Vale High School helped me achieved a broader perspective and sense of humanity, which I have used through out my life.

Thank you.
