| About Me | Most of you may remember me as "Olgie Mejia", now Holty. After we got married in 1974, we lived in Minneapolis for a few months and then moved to Stevens Point, WI where my husband worked for Sentry Insurance. I also had a clerical job. We lived there for 1 1/2 years and our first child, Adriana was born. We moved to Chippewa Falls, WI when she was two months old and I stayed home with her as my husband had an insurance territory. He changed his job about a year later and started working for Kurth Heating/Cooling and Sheet Metal Co. where he's been working for 31 years. He is in Sales and has a Heating/Cooling Design Engineer license. We had our first son, Andrew, and then our second son, Alex, in the next few years and I stayed home. They grew up very involved in swimming/state competitions, music/piano classes and competitions, band competions, sports, drama/plays, and dancing. So I was very involved in chaperoning and fundraising for trips, which included Orlando, Florida, New Orleans, Lousiana, Charlotte, North Carolina, and many more. As they got older I went to the Vocational Technical College where I received my Medical Clerk Diploma and worked at a nursing home for a while. I have stayed home taking care of my family more than I have worked outside the home. I never have regretted this choice which my husband and I made as we started a family. When I have worked outside the home, I have worked at the county court house, and also have done a lot of translating in court trials. I have worked more in day cares and early childhood development centers than at any other place. I have also been on 8 mission trips to Monterrey, Mexico, even though I was born in Nicaragua, Central America, mainly as a translator along with reaching and helping the people there. My husband also has done 6 trips, even though he doesn't speak Spanish. At this time, I am enjoying our grandchildren and being able to do...(read more) |
