About	DANTE, VIRGINIA – Johnny Tompa, 70, died Sunday, March 6, 2011 in Tazewell Community Medical Center, Tazewell, Virginia. He was born in Dante, Virginia, son of the late Frank Tompa, Sr. and Rosa Deskins Tompa Bartee. He retired from the State of North Carolina. He was a graduate of Castlewood High School Class of 1960. He was preceded in death by one sister, Julie "Toots" Cook; two brothers, Bob Tompa and Billy Bartee; one special aunt, Mary Tompa Harris. He is survived by one daughter, Kimberly Fish of Charlotte, North Carolina; one son, Ricky Allen Tompa of Waxhaw, North Carolina; his twin sister, Jane Phillips and husband, Tom, of Dante, Virginia and sister Betty Castle and husband, Pete, of Dante, Virginia; one brother, Frank Tompa, Jr. of Coeburn, Virginia; special friend, Hazel Cantor of Tazewell, Virginia; four grandsons; several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services for Johnny Tompa will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 8, 2011 in Castlewood Funeral Home Chapel, Castlewood, Virginia with Rev. Ted Phillips officiating. Committal Services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 9, 2011 in Temple Hill Memorial Park, Castlewood, Virginia. Family and Friends will meet at the funeral home and go in procession leaving for the cemetery at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday. Pallbearers will be Family and Friends. The family will receive friends from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 8, 2011 in Castlewood Funeral Home, Castlewood, Virginia.
