| About Me | I received my Cosmetology license in 1994, then worked in the hair industry while attending Sierra College from 1994-1998. I then transferred to California State University, Sacramento and graduated with a BS in Speech Pathology and Audiology in 2000. I worked with children, teens, and adults with learning challenges as a teacher, instructing reading, reading comprehension, math, social skills, and writing from 2000-2010. During this ten year span, I married Justin Johnson, from Fair Oaks, CA, had my first son, Jake, in 2005 and my second son, Austin, in 2008. I resently resigned at Lindamood-Bell Learning Processes, my employer for ten years to pursue a master's degree in Vocational Rehabilitation Counseling at CSUS. I just completed my first semester in the program. It was challenging and stressful, but I did very well and am motivated to continue on in the program. I am enjoying being a student right now as I am able to spend more time with my family, something that was more difficult when I was working full time.
