About	Steven (Steve) Nurge May 30, 1951-Oct 11, 2014 Steven (Steve) Robert Nurge passed peacefully away in his beloved city of San Francisco on October 11, 2014. He was born on May 30, 1951 in Amityville, New York, but grew up in Southern California living in the beautiful mountains of Idyllwild. He attended the University of Oregon graduating with a B.A. in art, then settled in San Francisco in 1974. Retired from AT&T after many years of illustrious service as a telephone technician, Steve was an enthusiastic world traveler and accomplished artist as well as a lifelong NY Yankees fan. But his real passion was people. He enjoyed socializing with the many friends he made the world over and they always enjoyed his company and graciousness, from the courtesy clerk at the grocery store to the glamorous stars he met on the job. Steven is survived by his brothers Edward Nurge and Douglas Nurge, his sister Janice Hethcoat, nieces Heather and Kelli, nephews Matthew and Forrest, four great nieces and two great nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Edward and Alma Nurge and his sister Debra Sisco. Published in San Francisco Chronicle on Oct. 18, 2014
