| About Me | Harry W. Jones, Jr. Position Senior Consultant Professional History Harry W. Jones, Jr. had 37 years of increased responsibility with ComEd. In his last assignment, before retirement, he served for nine years as the Senior Lobbyist. His responsibilities included identifying relevant research, reviewing and developing policy positions on legislation, and formulating positions on legislative constituency issues. Harry coordinated internal and external acuities related ComEd’s strategies and initiatives. He was responsible for cultivating relationships among government officials, lobbyists, community/grass root organizations and employees in order to promote ComEd’s interests. He coordinated employees’ donations to the Exelon Political Action Committee (PAC) and managed ComEd’s PAC donations to elected Officials in the State of Illinois. He also managed ComEd’s contract lobbying staff, and the Springfield, Illinois and Chicago support staff. Upon Harry’s retirement from ComEd, in 2007,he founded Jones and Associates, a lobbying and consulting firm. Jones and Associates specifializes in maintaining relationships with members of the State General Assembly, both the Senate and the House; the Cook County Board of Commissioners, and the Chicago City Council. Harry’s lobbying firm represents companies like AT&T; Red Speed Illinois, KVAR Corp., Aramark Corp and Ceasefire. Firms and organizations that need a conduit to lawmakers use Harry Jones. His past and present involvement/memberships include: RWL Community Service Center, Youth Empire Services (YES, Board of Directors and past chairman for St. Francis Hospital, past chairman of School District No. 152 Foundation, Vice President of Riverdale Redevelopment Corporation, Board of Managers for YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago, foundation member, Chicago Public Schools Exemplary Schools Program, Junior Achievement of Chicago, Chicago and Suburban Public Schools Youth Motivation Program, and past chairman of the South Suburban YMCA. Awards Harry Jones is the recipient of various awards, including the 1998 Village of Phoenix Community Service Recognition Award, 1998 South Suburban Award of Merit for Outstanding Community Service, 1997 Lewis Latimer Award for Community Service, 1997 Youth Empire Services Community Service Award, 1996 Village of Phoenix Outstanding Corporate Representative, and the 1996 Patton School Mentor of the Year. In 1995, the Board of Directors for Patton School voted to rename the school’s library, The Harry W. Jones Library. In 1995, Mr. Jones also received the Washington/Nash Success award based on his professional accomplishments, personal integrity, and public image and for being a positive role model for America’s youth. Additionally, he received the 1995 Education Excellence Award from Chicago State University, the 1995 Education Talent Search Award, the 1994 Public Relations Person of the Year and the 1992 Junior Achievement Above-and-Beyond Award.
