| About Me | Realized I loved doing science research and took that path instead of getting an MD; worked for the Lahey Clinic in Boston during summers and shared apartment with Ginny Selber and other friends; Serious New Wave fan; Worked for a summer at Oak Ridge National Laboratory in Tennessee and bought my first car; Worked for nobel laureate at Harvard before going to grad school; Left the east coast for sunny So Cal; began a love hate relationship with Yoga; Got a degree in Biology working on how neurons talk to each other and tell our brains what is important in the world around us; traveled to the south seas for about 3 months living in tents and derelict housing and catamarans; 2 years working in the Bay Area before returning to San Diego; got married; had children; meanwhile tried to figure out how to balance family and work; had to say no to 2 job offers in the eastern US to keep the family together; worked at J&J for 8 years before becoming disillusioned with company politics and priorities; now at a research institution where I can do great science and interact with great scientists; I am learning something ...(read more) |
