About	Russell "Rusty" Elsberry, Jr, age 40, a Colorado Springs resident since 1997 and previously of Carmel Valley, California, passed away on Saturday, November 6, 2004 at Pikes Peak Hospice after a long-fought, courageous battle with cancer. He was a security officer for TSA at Colorado Springs International Airport. Russell Leonard Elsberry was born on August 12, 1964 in Ft. Collins, Colorado to Russell L. and Linda Lee (Voris) Elsberry. His parents survive and live in Carmel Valley. Rusty was a 1982 graduate of Carmel High School, attended Monterey Peninsula College and San Diego State University, and was a 1996 graduate of San Jose State. He was drafted by the Detroit Tigers Baseball Organization and played with the Houston Astros Farm Club in Auburn, New York. He married Kristen Marie Ellena on September 9, 1989 in Monterey, California. Rusty is survived by his wife, his son Timothy Russell, and his daughter Lauren Rose. He is also survived by his brother David (wife Yvette) Elsberry of Long Beach, California, and two sisters, Lundy (husband Michael) Smith of Monument, Colorado, and Susan (husband James) Sherrin of Long Beach. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
