He was the brother of Phyllis Dato Timbario (CHS -1971), Joseph Dato (CHS-1974), Patricia Dato Thewes (CHS-1980), Marian Dato Zombek (CHS-1984). Chuck was a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh and had worked for Allegheny County (Roads and surfaces division).
