About Me	Most folks at Carl Albert knew me as Mark Griffin (long story). After graduation I ... Got married and had 2 daughters. Joined the Army Reserves (to stay out of Vietnam). :-) Worked at odd jobs for awhile. In 1973, I went to work at Star Manufacturing (Metal buildings) in office services delivering mail. Sometime during my "career" there they asked if I wanted to be a computer operator on their IBM 370-138 mainframe. I said "sure". (I didn't even know they had a computer). In 1979, General Motors opened a plant in Midwest City. They called me and asked if I wanted to go to work for GM as a computer operator. Oh, you bet! Long story short, I worked at the GM plant (first under GM, then EDS, then Hewlett Packard) until the plant closed in 2007 (I think). HP offered me an early retirement which I took. They then hired me back to finish closing the GM plant. Myself and 4 others were the last out the door. Went to work at Tinker for 6 months as a computer consultant for the DOD (hated it). During that time, my first wife (Terri) passed away from breast cancer. After a couple of years I remarried, sold everything, bought a truck and 36 foot 5th wheel camper and took off across the country. The traveling unfortunately, didn't last long. Sold the truck and 5th wheel, bought 2 acres between Edmond and Guthrie and built a house. Been there ever since. I'm doing good. Try to exercise every day. Try to eat right. Go to church at Community Nazarene in Midwest City (Post and 15th next to Braums) and play guitar in the Worship group every sunday. Got my PADI diver certification (In 2007). Travel around to different parts of the Caribbean when I can (mostly Mexico) to scuba dive. Haven't done much of that since Covid. If I could get this ankle monitor off it ...(read more)
