I have always credited Ronnie Shaw with keeping me from smoking. We were both from Incarnation and when I was a sophomore and he was a senior he saw me in the Shack, at 5th and Godfrey, I started to light up a cigarette.. He immediately put his hand on my shoulder and told me to put it out and never try that again. That was all I needed to hear from an upper class man who was also a football player. I have never smoked since. Rest in peace Ronnie, you were a good man.
