Dana Lee Bracken Anderson October 31, 1962 (Delta, UT) – January 4, 2020 (Pagosa Springs, CO)

Dana Lee passed away on January 4th, 2020, after years of struggling with rheumatoid arthritis and other autoimmune disorders.

She was born in Delta, Utah on October 31, 1962, to Richard Austin Bracken and Lois Jean Fowles Bracken. Her childhood was spent in Delta, Hiawatha, and Price, Utah. She completed her general education in Price at CEU where she helped out in the Women's Resource Center. Upon completing her courses, she began working at Commercial Testing Laboratories as a technician conducting environmental samples.

In 1990 she married Charles V. Anderson Jr and they soon moved to Pagosa Springs, Colorado. Living in Colorado was her childhood dream. In Pagosa Springs she quickly became known as the "paint queen" of Pagosa, first working for Wood's Paint Supply and then Ponderosa Lumber in their paint department until 2003. She then started her way down a new path.

Dana attended San Juan Basin Technical College where she earned her degree in Nursing. She began work at Pine Ridge Extended Care Center where she worked for several years. While at Pine Ridge she was able to care for the residents and helped bring some light to their lives. She also taught the Certified Nurse's Assistant program where she was able to influence hundreds of people interested in joining the medical community. After Pine Ridge she spent time as a nurse at the Pagosa Springs Medical Center where she eventually wanted to make her move into hospice care as a hospice nurse. This was the work she loved, her calling in life and what she wanted to do for the rest of her life. Unfortunately, her rheumatoid arthritis became too severe and she had to quit before becoming a hospice nurse. Dana was a free spirit who helped others in any way she could.

She loved nursing, the outdoors, her family, day trading and fish & chips (mostly because of tartar sauce). She was the light at any family gathering and her smile could fix any down moment we ever had. She passed far too early.

She is survived by the following wonderful people:
Husband -Charles V. (Chuck)
Sons and Grandchildren
-Jason and wife Nancy, and grandsons Ethan and Anderson (Andy)
-Bryon, and granddaughter Harlee
Mother -Lois Jean
Father and Mother In Law -Charles V. (Skip) Sr. -Florence C. (Minnie)
Brothers and Spouses
-Richard (Rick) and Dianna
-Jeffery (Jeff)
-Michael (Mike) and Shauna
-Vince (Vinny) and Andrea
Sisters In Law
-Paula
-Maria and husband Chris
And many other aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews and nieces of which she loved very much.
