Class of 1972
First of all I want to say I am 4/4 native american. There is a lot of talk about professional sports teams and their native american mascots. Now, I hear the OKC school board will hear conversation about OK schools not using native american mascots. Well, I am proud to say I am an CHHS Redskin alumni. My thought was that my school using that mascot was because we were considered tough & strong. On the other hand, I also get offended when non-natives do the war hollar or the chop sign or cover their mouths with their hand & make that stupid woo woo woo noise. I pray for an intelligent compromise. Uh-dah(thank you).
