About Me	Whitney Parker is Special Assistant to the CEO of the Center for a New American Security (CNAS), a think tank based in Washington, DC. Prior to joining CNAS, she was Director of Communications at the Center for Defense Information (CDI) and World Security Institute (WSI), where she managed all aspects of public affairs and strategic communications, including media relations, publications, electronic communications, and events for an international nonprofit research and media group. Previously, she was a research assistant for the Straus Military Reform Project and Space Security Project with CDI. Before joining CDI, Ms. Parker served as a research intern at the Center for Arms Control and Non-Proliferation, and as a research assistant for The Wilderness Society and Boise State University in Idaho. She has worked as a consultant for numerous non-profits, including Economists for Peace and Security, the Security Policy Working Group, the Snake River Alliance, and for various political campaigns.
