About Mark Steele, age 60, of Middleton, died Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2010. Mark was born Jan. 4, 1950, in Nampa, to Walter and Lillie Steele.
He grew up in Boise and graduated from Capital High School. Mark served a mission for the LDS Church in the Rochester, New York mission. He earned a bachelor's degree in animal science from BYU.
Mark married Sharolyn Waite in 1974, and they had four children: Mark Aaron, Lance, Caleb and Lindsay. They later divorced.
In 1989 Mark married Michelle Dowdy and from this union came three children: Hailee, Tessia and Dallas.
Mark enjoyed farming, singing, hunting, and raising horses and cattle. He also wrestled in college.
Mark had a passion for studying the Gospel and LDS church history. He loved his family and enjoyed watching them grow. He had a great mechanical ability to fix anything and shared that talent by helping his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Michelle; children, Mark Aaron (Teena) Steele, Lance (Kirsten) Steele, Caleb (Stephanie) Steele, Lindsay (Jacob) Hendricks, Hailee Steele, Tessia Steele, and Dallas Steele. He is also survived by his 14 grandchildren (soon to be 16), and his siblings: Zoreatha Husky, Lynn (Carolyn) Steele, Suzanne (Jack) Perry, Stefani (Roger) McDonald, Gaylene (Bill) Ellsworth, Jed (Anne) Steele, Rex (Joann) Steele, Shaun (Kris) Steele, Gladys (Roy) Patten, and Dean (Valerie) Steele, and many others.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother Tony Steele.
Mark's funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 20, at The Middleton Downtown LDS Church, 309 W. Main St., Middleton.
Aviewing will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m., at the church prior to the service.
Internment will follow at Dry Creek Cemetery in Boise. Services are under the direction of Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Caldwell. Mark's online guestbook is available at www.flahifffuneralchapel.com
