About Me	Born in South Dakota, left as soon as I found out where I was. Joined the Navy at 17. Decided I would rather go to college. Attended San Francisco State, had a wonderful time, learned a lot, met my wife, taught at a Prep School, matriculated to UCLA, got a Fulbright, then another, obtained a Ph.D. Began my teaching career at Oberlin College, became a Dept. Chair at Central Michigan U, Director of the School of Music at the U. of Alabama, Assoc. VP for Academic Affairs, retired, moved to Annapolis, President of Annapolis Opera, now playing cornet with the Benfield Brass and AACC concert band. Also a player of the ukulele.
