Steve and I grew up in the same church. He was one of the "cool guys" in the youth group. He finished high school a year before me, but we both went into the Army, separately, during the same week in August 1969. I saw Steve once or twice after that, a time or 2 while in uniform and at least one more time after we were both out. I was too heavenly minded to be much earthly good, but Steve remained a cool guy. I should have learned better, from him.
