About John H. Hibsman, Jr.
Memorial services for John H. Hibsman, Jr., 63, will be at 2 p.m., Friday, June 27, 2008, at First United Methodist Church, in Casper, WY, with Pastor Steve Burnett officiating. Interment with military rites will be in the Oregon Trail State Veterans Cemetery in Evansville at 3:30 p.m.
He passed away June 22, 2008 at his home in Casper.
He was born in Harrisburg, PA on October 22, 1944, the son of John, Sr. and Marion (Gill) Hibsman.
He graduated from Camp Hill High School in 1962. He served in the U.S. Army and was sent to Germany twice during his service. He then graduated from Penn State University with a degree in Civil Engineering. He taught Surveying at HACC while attending Penn State University. He became an Eagle Scout at a young age and was later a den leader for his son's boy scout troop. He loved sports and was an avid outdoorsman as well.
John was self-employed with his engineering firm of Hibsman & Associates, as a Civil and Municipal engineer. On February 17, 1973 he married Linda Lou Sterrett, a union that lasted 17 years.
He was very hardworking his whole life and helped those in need, but wanted no recognition. He loved his family and worked very hard to provide for them.
He is survived by his parents of Camp Hill; his sister, Barbara Hibsman of Princeton, NJ; his son, Jason of Englewood, CO; his daughters, Trudy Hibsman, Rebecca Taylor, and Emily Hibsman, all of Casper; his four grandchildren; his uncle, Bill Gill of Warminster, PA; 2 nephews, 5 cousins.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 332 East 2nd Street, Casper, WY 82601 or to the Central Wyoming Rescue Mission, P.O. Box 2030, Casper, WY 82602.
