About Charles F. Johnson Jr (Chuck), 84, of Camp Hill passed away peacefully on September 16, 2025, at Brookdale Grandon Farms, Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. He was born on May 25, 1941, in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, to the late Ruth (Keller) and Charles F. Johnson Sr. He was a graduate of Camp Hill High School class of 1959, and Bucknell University class of 1967. Chuck was a standout on the football field, helping Bucknell University win the first ever Lambert Cup Trophy in 1960 honoring the best small-college football team in the East. Chuck also was a veteran, serving in the United States Army. Chuck's love for sports and coaching made an impact on the Camp Hill community. He was a long-time youth baseball coach and member of the Camp Hill Lions Club, and a huge champion of the Lions, supporting his sons throughout their sports careers. He never missed the opportunity to cheer on his sons. A Mechanical Engineer by trade, Chuck along with his father (Charles, Sr.) and his brother (Donald) owned and operated their own business (Johnson and Johnson Associates) and he ultimately retired from Century Engineering (formerly Benatec Associates) after nearly 40 years of service in the Engineering Consulting industry. Chuck was an avid outdoorsman, loved hunting, fishing, and finding time to hike a majority of the Appalachian Trail. Chuck and his wife Sandy found their happiest days at the beach, spending many summers with their feet in the sand from Stone Harbor to Myrtle Beach. He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 62 years, Saundra L. Johnson, his parents, as well as his son, Douglas B. Johnson. Chuck is survived by sons Charles F. Johnson III, (Kira), Eric W. Johnson, (Jennifer). Grandchildren, Charlie, Ellie, Nate, and Avery, brother Donald A. Johnson, (Sandy) and many nieces and nephews. A viewing will be held on Monday, October 6, 2025, at 10am, with a service at 11am, at Musselman Funeral Home, Lemoyne, Pennsylvania. Burial will immediately follow services at Rolling Green Cemetery, Camp Hill, Pennsylvania. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Camp Hill United Methodist Church.
