About Me	Began college at Southern State College (now Southern Arkansas University) Married Lawrence (Butch) Martin in 1971 (killed in 1985) Mother of 2 beautiful daughters - Melissa (1979) and Amanda (1981) Moved to Texarkana, Texas in 1986 to teach at Texas High School Moved to Austin Texas in 1989 to get my Masters degree Worked for the Math Education Department of UT by supervising student teachers Married Bill Shipman in 1991 Taught at Austin Community College part-time and then Lake Travis High School while in Austin Moved to Spring, Texas when Bill was transferred with Motorola - taught at Cypress-Fairbanks High School Moved back to Camden to live the "quiet" life and sit on the back porch with my dad - taught at Harmony Grove (Fairview had no math teacher openings for me that year) Did not find the quiet life or get to sit on the porch with my dad nearly enough Dad died in 1998 Moved to Texas when Bill bought a small business Taught in Denison for 13 years in high school and college part-time (still no quiet life). Now retired and teaching part-time for Grayson County College. Grandmother of Dayne (age 7) and Reagan (age 14 months) so really no quiet life - but aren't grandchildren fun? Melissa married a 6 ft 5 in football player who is now a Juvenille Correction officer. She and her husband both graduated from Southern Oklahoma State University. Amanda is the Marketing Manager for a large apartment complex in Dallas. We have a miniature Shitzu named Macy. Bill has two sons - David who lives in Midland and Steven who lives in Amarillo.
